OTEC International is working on several fronts:
The Cayman Islands — OTI has a term sheet with Caribbean Utilities Company and has completed an interconnection study for a 6.25-MW Floating Power Platform (FPP) off Grand Cayman Island. OTI and CUC have made substantial progress toward completion of a Power Purchase Agreement and an Interconnection Agreement that will be filed with the Electric Regulatory Authority for approval.
The Bahamas — OTI is in discussions that it hopes will lead to installing 3- to 5-MW Floating Power Platforms suitable to serve the smaller “family islands” of the region.
O‘ahu, Hawaiian Islands — OTI is negotiating a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Hawaiian Electric Company (HECO) for a 100-MW moored spar OTEC plant.
